I am in need of professional advice concerning treatment and reconstruction
to reduce the transference of sound (drums) to my neighbors on either side
and above in an old building in Cuyahoga Falls Ohio. I would appreciate any
help steering me toward the right person(s) to consult with. Work needs to
be done in June. I am familiar with basic principles of acoustics and sound
and have some experience with pro  recording studios and their construction.
Also looking for any resources on the net that might educate me further.
Please email me or call the number below. I will check this group again
also. Thank you

The standard approach would be to build a "room within a room".  There
are several web pages that describe how this can be done, such as:

http://www.drumdojo.com/tech/soundpro.htm
http://www.dougyoungguitar.com/studio.htm
http://www.stack.nl/~erwint/multi/drumroom.html
http://www.kineticsnoise.com/
http://soundproofing.org/

To name but a few...

Achieving your goal in an old building can be extremely difficult.  It will
depend on the basic construction of that building.  Is it heavy masonry
already?  If so, that helps.  At least a couple of Ohio consultants hang out
here. Perhaps they can help.
