I have a single-car garage I want to isolate as much as possible.
Not full-band iso, but loud electric guitar iso.

It's concrete block, no windows. Concrete block should
isolate well, as I understand it. Is this correct?

It has a fiberglass garage door. This is a very lightwight door.

I'm thinking that the least impact would be to simply add material
to the garage door.

How effective is the "Super Soundproofing Mat" from
http://soundproofing.org/sales/prices.html ? Does anybody
know what it weighs per unit area for 1/2"?

How does it compare to SheetBlok, in attenuation as
well as in weight?

For the frequency range of concern (below 500 Hz), the only thing that
counts is area mass. Drywall has an area mass of about 1.6 to 2 pounds
per square foot (PSF).

The vinyl mats are about 1 PSF. Sheet metal is perhaps cheaper, and will
do just as good, weight depending on gage.

Any mass you add to the door will seriously challenge the springs that
help lift it up, or the hinges if it is a swinging door. The choice is
yours.
