Noise data is published for most supply and return registers and grills
sold for indoor applications. Similar data is not available for
outdoor intake and exhaust louvers. Pressure drop data and water
penetration data is published, but not noise. Typically these louvers
have a 4" blade spacing and are 4 to 6" deep. We are using them as
return grills in a large indoor water park. Does anyone have any
published data on this or can anyone suggest how to estimate noise
levels at different face velocities.

Mark,
The major reason flow noise data are not published for these is that the
flow noise is almost always much lower than the noise of the equipment on
the other side coming through. I can conceive of cases where that is not
true, but there are not enough in the marketplace to drive the manufacturers
to the effort of developing data.

Thanks Noral. Excellent point.
