probably not. If you want to use a limp barrier type material it has to
be quite dense to hav any decent Transmission Loss properties. The most
used material is "Loaded Vinyl" this is a rubber impregrated with metal
to make the material heavy. It goes by a few trade names like wavebar,
SoundStop ....
Do a search and you should be able to get some acoustic data for it.

Loaded Vinyl is VINYL impregnated with beryllium sand
...Wavebar, soundstop etc
Loaded Rubber is RUBBER impregnated with Beryllium sand
...Acoustop
Both typically 4kg/m2 or 8kg/m2

Which one of the above is better for sound-proofing?

....and when the tests came back - no difference
(The rubber is a bit more flexible but that's an "ease of installation"
detail, not an acoustic detail)
