How could we possibly know what interests you, or what facilities you
have??

But perhaps more importantly... You want to show you are a scientist,
by presenting a paper? The important part of being a scientist is
developing the ideas. The person who gets the credit is the one who
develops the idea and puts it in context.

That's not to say that developing ideas is easy. Discussing them with
colleagues, or even with people here, can be useful.

So, what interests you? Learn the area, and start suggesting things
one might want to do. Make a list of many ideas, and spend some time
developing them. Some will be done already, some will be too difficult
to do... But with lots of ideas and interest, over time you find
something that is a good place to start work. As you do things, more
ideas will develop.
