When I last ruminated on this subject in July of 2005, I came up
with rather good conclusions even though many of my assumptions
and calculations were crude and rough and in error. Today is April
2008 and I think I can amplify those calculations of old.
Let me put myself into the Cosmic Control Center which is the Nucleus
of the Atom Totality, located somewhere in the direction of the Great
Attractor and the Sloan Great Wall of Galaxies.
Physics has a fundamental constant that the coupling strength between
Coulomb force and compared to gravity force is 10^40 stronger for the
Coulomb.
So I am there in the Nucleus Control Center and talking around with the
Nucleites (to give them a name). And they tell me their job is to keep
the Universe together and secondly to progress the Universe in small
steps forward to the Next Atom Totality which is element 95. They tell
me were are 1/3 between 231Pu and the next Atom Totality of Element 95.
So a Nucleite shows me a monitor of the Milky Way Galaxy and I beg "it"
to zoom in on the Solar System and planet Earth. Which "it" obliges.
The Nucleite instructs me by saying, of course Earth has life but most
planets do not have life because it takes too much of our time and
maintenance and most of all energy. You see a Solar System can run on
pilot automatic of merely the weakest Coulomb force which is the force
of Gravity. Most Star systems are run on purely gravity because that
takes the least amount of energy. Much like your human body Mr.
Archimedes Plutonium is run on the brain stem which automatically
controls most of your living functions such as heart beat, breathing,
eating, excrement, sex. The main difference between intelligent life
and animal life is that the brain stem is augmented with a neocortex
in intelligent life.
Nucleite further talks on: So you see Mr. Plutonium, that it would be
too costly for us to make life on every Star System since we would then
have to shot photons and neutrinos of 10^40 more to those planets of
life, and we only have a given amount of photons and neutrinos to sparse
out as each future moment moves by.
End of conversation with Nucleite and I am shipped back to Earth.
Now in prior posts I said that the number of Photons that exist to
hold together a plutonium atom was around 10^160 and that Dirac
had computed that the Cosmos has about 10^80 protons.

Those numbers are pretty much in agreement for if we consider that the
electrons of the Cosmos would also be 10^80 then the photons to hold
together the protons would be 10^80 X 10^80 = 10^160
Now there are neutrons in the Cosmos also and they do Coulomb binding so
the total number of Photons needed to hold together a Plutonium Atom
would be somewhere of the order of 10^231 to 10^240.
So those numbers are in agreement.
So what is this shortcut of calculating how much intelligent life exists
in the Cosmos.
Well, if the auto pilot of planet and solar system maintenance is
Gravity whereas if there existed intelligent life in that Solar System
would require 10^40 more energy than if the solar system were lifeless.
So now, Mars and Venus and Mercury and all the other planets in our
Solar System are barren of intelligent life, they may have some specks
of life but not any abundance.
So how much life exists as a Entity here on Earth? Where one human
counts as one entity and where one bacteria counts as one entity?
Is the number of life entities on Earth that of a number which
approaches 10^40?
So that if the control center of the Nucleus of the Atom Totality has
to maintain life on Earth, it has to bombard Earth with 10^40 more
photons and neutrinos than if Earth were lifeless and maintained purely
on gravity.
So what is the Entity Count of life on Earth? Is it about 10^30? Or
about 10^35?
Let me say it is about 10^35 living particle entities on EArth that
require the Coulomb energy rather than the low-maintenance energy of
gravity.
Now in a previous post of mine I looked up the very best Pulsar density
count in the Cosmos and it was 10^5 density
So here I have another agreement of numbers. That if I take the Living
Particle Entity density of 10^35 and multiply by Pulsar density of 10^5
I end up with the Coulomb to Gravity Coupling strength of 10^40.
Now I am not suggesting that every pulsar is a alien planet that has
built a pulsing machine to communicate beyond their Star System, but
that the majority of pulsars, say 90 percent are advanced alien life.
Some pulsars can be stars of some pulsing mechanics.

A Corollary to the above, that is a subset line of thought, is that
for Intelligent life
to exist on a planet requires the existence of at least 10^30 living
entities.
Now can we calculate how many living entities existed on Earth through
the geological
time periods? How many in the Cambrian in Ordovician, in Silurian, in
Devonian? etc etc?
And only when the living entity count was sufficient at 10^30 could
intelligent life emerge.

"advanced" as in nuclear timescales, but "retarded" as in relativistic
timescales. Nuclear life hangs on nuclear pollamers and polýmers.
Stay away from this subject; it's at the heart of my Stargate Gward
screenplay.
