How are animals nurtured after birth (no placenta) and before suckling
(addition of milk)?
I heard an article stating something called the ephogy pathway. I'm
not sure of the exact spelling but the sound is similar. Does any one
know the name of this pathway?
Thanks,
Brett

Autophagy. Literally, self-eating -- the same thing you would do if
you were starving... break down some cells and use the components to
do the most necessary things.
It is in the news because there were a couple of articles about it in
the Dec 23 issue of Nature.
