Interesting findings Alan. I wonder whether there could be some hydrothermal
vents along the Gakken ridge under the arctic ice where active volcanoes
were found in 2001.

Hi Gautam,
I'm afraid I can't answer that, apart from "I wouldn't be surprised".
I tried to find some info, but there is very little to be had at all on
the Gakken Ridge (that I could find).

Thanks Alan. I read the Nature article when it was published and refreshed
myself now. Also checked the Wikipedia article. A good short one.
Results of further exploration in 2007. No hydrothermal vent though.
