I need to find an adapter for a coolpix 5700 to a Leitz trinoc port with a
38mm inside diameter.
Any help that's not so expensive?  This is only a hobby.

I bought one of these* for my camcorder and Coolpix 4500 for astro work.
There was (is?) a range of adapters available (not all were listed on
websites), and I ordered the microscope adapter as well, and found that this
allowed successful photos down a microscope.  Mine was bought in the UK, but
I think I saw it originally on a US website (different name, I suspect).
The sleeve is telescopic so you can adjust for position of exit pupil etc.

* DigimaxT 40  (Try the Telescope House website for some info.)

The price has dropped in the two years since I bought mine, and I can
thoroughly recommend it.

Take a look at Martin Micrscope web site, they may have something.

You will need a F-adapter and adapter tube for your camera. Here is a link
to
a F adapter:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230043501681

Leitz makes a photo adapter that works in combination with a Periplan
eyepiece. Here is a link to a 38mm photo tube for your leitz trinoc:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110048731451

Periplan eyepieces have seven lens elements that are cemented into a single
doublet, a single triplet, and two individual lenses. The periplan eyepieces
have better correction and a general overall better performance.

I buy on ebay because I can have everything shipped to my home. I've tried
to buy things like camera tubes at large camera shops but they only sell
cameras and general items. Camera Shops don't make enough money on the small
items
to sell them.
