Finally, after a few months looking for spare parts my leitz sm-lux is like
new (well... let's say, almost like new...)
I had to have a custom gears manufacturer to make a new focus gear (spare
part impossible to find, cost: 120 euro), to find a new holder (on ebay...
one was missing), to repair the lamp holder, to repair the iris, to re-glue
the mirror.
Now it works fine.
Possibly it was not worth the effort and the costs, but I'm nevertheless
happy to have "saved" this nice piece of optics from "decommissioning".
If I could find a Leitz phaco condenser for a reasonable price, I would
probably buy it...
Leitz-Germany kindly sent me the original service manual (PDF format) but
less-than-kindly ignored my further requests for spare parts.

Hi,
Well done; another one saved from the bin!
I have an SM-Lux in need of some careful attention, too. I was wondering if
you could email me the service manual? The address is
ortholux at gmail dot com
Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
Raymond
