Does anyone know of a resource for Leitz Laborlux D parts? I have a
used microscope that's missing a specimen holder/slide finger
assembly. I purchased a "universal" X-Y mechanical stage finger
assembly from Ebay and made some adjustments to allow it to clamp onto
the stage itself. But the dimensions are wrong and there's not enough
clearance to rotate the objectives.
Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

From some photos I've seen on the Net the holders of the Laborlux seem
identical to the ones of the SM-LUX.
I have one spare holder (the one without the spring) of a SM LUX.

Rebecca,
The stages for the Lab series were made by Marzhauser in Wetzlar
Germany, right across the street from the E. Leitz plant. I've had
the Marzhauser catalog, a notably boring tome, it was huge. There
were hundreds of stages the Marzhauser brothers did build or could
build and hundreds and hundreds of slide holders.
I'd try to find a pathologist who used a Lab, he just might have the
slide holder and it would be unused, probably. However I've
substituted one makers slide holder for another, it may need some very
simple machining but it can be done by a skilled microscope repair
person. The last one I did wasn't all that expensive, I'd guess mid-
two hundred dollars. Contact your local microscope technician.
Thanks,
Kevin Cunningham
