This is definetly a shot in the dark but if there is anyone here who
has rockhounded in washington state, preferably eastern washington,
would you please give site locations and any info that you have.
Thank you.

I did my under graduate work in geology at Eastern
Wash. U.   Much of the area of Eastern Wash. is public
land so access is not much of a problem.  As far as where to go you might
want to get a geologic map of the area you would like to go in first.   Or
try looking in the Spokane phone book for rock shops or prospector supplies.
These stores often are associated with
rock hounding clubs.
I might add that in the summer months many  areas of Eastern Washington
are "rattle snake cities" so you
would be much better off with a group if you don't have the habit of snake
country.   Also many bears are out in
the moutainous areas.

I'm haphazardly reading this

and remembered your post. It's entertaining, it's in the neighbourhood and
it's very informative.
