Dear lurkers and participants,
Recently some sonar pictures of the sea
bottom off of northwest end of Cuba have
been posted on the Internet at:
http://www.earthfiles.com/Images/news/C/CubaSideScanSonars.jpg
The estimated length and width of these features,
which are sounded by loose sand, estimated as:
""up to 150 to 200 meters (492
to 656 feet) in length and
maybe up to 50 to 100 meters
(164 to 328 feet) in width."
They occur at a depth of 700 meters.
The full story can be found at:

Does anyone on this mailing list seen features
like this before? Does anyone have any
suggestion as what they might be?
NOTE: remove "NO from email address before replying.

Looks like man-made debris dumped or sunk into the deep blue sea-
The detailed shots do not show enough detail (ship's track etc.), while the
larger complete record does not have a scale? Are the time lines 15 or 25
meters, and what are the shot point intervals?
Cheers,
OceanPete
