Need a macro/microscope lens with widest possible working distance.
There has been the Katoptaron LDM-1 and the MRM-1 by Infinity Optical
and the Questar M1.

Any ideas, offers, sources, documents most welcome!!

Thanks

What kind of working distance, NA, magnification are you talking about?

"widest possible" is not a spec.

Also you are enumerating a number of possibilities,
none of them apparently satisfy you ?

Price range, too, the Questar is quite expensive.

The Edmund Catalog has a good selection.

I should have been more precise:

The lens I am looking for is a macroscopic lens for SLR and 16mm Film
applications, not a microscope lens.

The intended magnification range is between 0.1x and max. 3x, the lens
has to have a built in aperture (iris) to control Depth of Field (DOF).

All the types I mentioned have this ability

Thanks,

Klaus

There is a much simpler way for low levels of magnification:  use a 3x
teleconverter on a macro lense and you should be able to get a working
distance of several feet.  I once took a closeup of a water mocassin using a
home made 3x converter on a 200mm lense from 10 feet away - needed the
tripod, that's for sure.

Mitutoyo make some high perfomance long working distance microscope
objectives.  Some of them are listed in the Edmund's catalog

Thanks to all - I meanwhile found what I was looking for!

Best
