Norwood Holden - 05 Oct 2004 18:27 GMT Concentrate your heart and life upon the Christ life and glory, and you will no longer fear anything.
Be thankful, for thankfulness also casts out all fear.
Be thankful, and remember that your Father in heaven knows your needs and all you need will be supplied.
John D. - 05 Oct 2004 18:36 GMT Thank you and amen. The Proverbist had it right:
"When wisdom enters into your heart and knowledge itself becomes pleasant to your very soul, thinking ability itself will keep guard over you and discernment itself will guard over you to deliver you from the bad way, from the man speaking perverse things, from those leaving the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness"
(Prov. 2:10-12, quoted from NWT for courtesy to JW readers - and because there is no evidence of doctrinal tinkering.)

I'm here now and compelled then to answer... "incontinent" Incontinent? So I guess farting would be a sin too cuz it stinks! And people who become wicked can't support anal retention? Interesting hypothesis! Is there some way to set up a test group of good and evil people and test this?
Interestingly, you sight the very scripture that JWs sucked me into their covanent with... I saw there was a lot of shady stuff goin on via people I had Bible Studies with, that couldn't even quit smoking or drinking to excess before they were to be indocteranated into The WTS. I suppose you could say I got frightened into joining cuz thinking we must be in the last days cuz most people fit somewhere in that scripture and cuz my wife had already said OK on my behalf... She's Guatemalian (Mayan Indian)... I read up on her ancesters who threw their children into volcanos and were particularly adept Astronomers. So I picked her ten years prior to joining The WTS. We argued more frequently then but argued less after joining. We always stayed together cuz of advice my wife always got from her best friend. When my wife abandoned her for becoming a Mormon rather than a JW, I knew it was only a matter of time before she'd abandon me as well. And she did, stating infatically : "The only reason I ever wanted you was for breeding purposes..." That's the thanks I got for joining, working, raising a family, going on service, reading rags, attending enormous buffets, going to conventions, etc... Who had time to look at stars?

Brett Aubrey - 06 Oct 2004 04:26 GMT Hello, Norwood.
I notice that this thread is degenerating into a flame war, so am curious why you post to NGs that might hold divergent views. I'm specifically talking about sci.bio.paleontology (others might also apply). I know omitting this group won't necessarily stop flaming from other groups, but this group was set up to discuss science, biology, paleontology. Is it part of your purpose to draw fire? If not, try posting to appropriate NGs only. FWIW. Best regards, Brett.
