I found this piece of petrified wood with something embedded in one side of
it. I haven't found anyone locally who can tell me what it may be. Any
assistance would be appreciated. I am attaching a link with 4 photos.

I don't see anything embedded - it's just a part of the same wood.

Since the majority of life does not leave fossils, the remains of them show
a distorted view of the past.
