Tooth Extraction

Just out of idle curiosity I set Ed Conrad's purported "Canine Tooth"
which he was selling on ebay on my watch list, just to see if anyone
was foolish enough to bid for it.
Checked again, hmmmm nothing there. Now since most sensible folk just
killfile Ed, they may not have even noticed, but it amused me to find
that, rather than just end the auction with no bids the "tooth" ( along
with the ususal irrelavantly appended drivel from good old Ed) had
disappeared. ( A bit like ur other "Friend" JPT, s Australiab
Earthquake/Tsunami).

Clearly Ed has either had the item pulled by ebay itself, or has pulled
it out himself, perhaps his conviction of the authenticity of it
wavered at the last moment :-)

Now, if only he would withdraw from his postings :-)

Cheers

I was wanting to do the same (contemplating whether it would be
worthwhile buying it in order to have grounds for a law suit against
Ed. Force him into penury too dire to afford internet connection, and
thereby improve USENET immeasurably. Do you have the eBay item number?

sci.geo.geology ? I must have missed the original article,
presumably because the delusional (or fraudulent) Mr Conrad is firmly
near the top of my killfile (well, his name begins with a 'C' after all
<G>).
Hmmm, is the prospect of catching Conrad by the short'n'curlies
committing inter-state or international fraud is tempting, but is it
sufficient to excavate him from the total death part of the killfile
and put him into the Kooks Korner part ... hmmm. I'll worry about it
when I get back from the rig.
What name was he selling under?

I claim Conrad is innocent of fraud. He believes what he says. That removes
criminal intent. If you wish to question his sanity that is of course
another issue and one on which Conrad has provided plenty of information.

Are you kidding? Conrad is a low-level editor on a very small town
newspaper in Pennsylvania. Other than the ton of brass he exhibits on
the newsgroups, and a heck of a pile of rocks he has dragged in, I
don't think he has a bucket to urinate in.

What? I thought he'd spent too long in the Ozzy outback looking for
JPT's gold.

If Ed can afford an Internet connection, he clear has more money than
anyone should want him too.

So, a few thousand dollars to defend himself against a lawsuit
could bankrupt him? Leave him unable to afford a telephone line and
electric power, let alone an internet connection and a computer?

One can hope.
