Yes, kangaroos have tails -- long massive ones in fact. Find a picture
of kangaroos running (or whatever verb you prefer, quadrupeds don't
travel that way, and neither do other bipeds like humans) and you'll
see why they need tails.
No, kangaroos aren't especially closely related to mice. The mice
ancestors (placental mammals) split off from the kangaroo ancestors
(marsupials) quite a while ago. Sometime in the Mesozoic. I dunno
without looking it up. Maybe 100,000,000 years ago. Maybe longer.
Kangaroos, like humans, generally have a single baby (called a "joey").
They have one a year. I don't know, and couldn't find quickly, if
kangaroos can even deal with multiple births.
