The "dunk" had to be the scariest looking predator (from a front view)
that ever lived.  It's still not obvious why the species died out, when
some of its prey species came through the Permian extinction events OK.

Interesting face. I presume only faces have been found, as I did an
image search and found bodies rendered as everything from sharks to
eels, smooth bodied or plated head to tail, with the face grafted on
the front. None of those illustrations included accompanying text
explaining the bulk of the body was a guess.
