Hi,
I want to dump the  spettra taken by a Network Analyzer HP3577A into a PC
using a GPIB interface.  I'd like to do it with labview. I found some
labview drivers on the web but no one works. I have been working on this
problem for days but I do not manage to find satsfatory solution.
I'm wondering if someone has alreay faced this prolem and risolved.

OOOPs!!

This was an old analyzer I did not know there were any alive today.

Which version of Labview do you use?

Do you have this article from Agilent?

http://cp.literature.agilent.com/litweb/pdf/03577-90001.pdf

If not you should get it. I have not worked with this particular analyzer but
it is so old that I would write my own drivers using VISA (included in
Labview). You could probaly use the command Dump Trace 1 or 2 (DT1 or DT2)

The point is that I am not an expert user of labview at all. In particular I
have always

used standard VI and instrument drivers. So I don't know how to build a new
one. I have

the manual with the GPIB command and I can configure the instrument
remotely but not

read.

Besides,I think it is the actual problem, I don't know how a GPIB  works. I
tried to modify some

program of different model but without any success.

So I asked If someone has working drivers for this network analyser.

It shouldn't be too hard to write your own LabView drivers. I've
done it for the HP 8510 ANA series. Do you have the manuals for
the HP3577A with all the commands and responses?

E-mail me at Joseph.D.Warner@nasa.gov if you don't find an answer
soon.
