I'll cite 2 papers here, one of which argues quite effectively that
Bohr's original model of the helium atom with orbits was abandoned
prematurely, and the second of which argues that elementary particles
and quantum fields occupy different Universes in the Multiverse from
our observable Universe, where the former are confined to finite-time
while the latter are confined to infinite time.
The papers respectively belong to the physics.hist-ph and physics (no
subcategory to my recollection) categories of arXiv, which is where
Nonconformist papers and papers that don't follow Mainstream/concensus
or other relatively large schools are found. They are:
1) "Coulomb oscillations in the helium atom," Manfred Bucher,
California State University Fresno, California USA, arXiv: 0705.4321
v1 30 May 2007, 9 pages.
2) "A graceful multiversal link of particle physics to cosmology,"
Pedro F. G. Gonzalez-Diaz, Prado Martin Moruno, and Artyam V. Yurov,
arXiv: 0705.4347, 10 pages (the first two authors are with various
research institutes in Spain, the 3rd in I. Kant Russian State U.
Gonzalez-Diaz has 28 papers in arXiv.
The first paper basically recalculates the fit of experimental data to
theory using what we now know about spin and Coulomb oscillations and
finds less than 1% error where before Bohr, Heisenberg, Pauli, Born
abandoned the old theory of Bohr because of high errors (not because
of any problem about orbits, by the way). The new calculations
involve consideration of what we might term perpendicular and parallel
components and their mean.
