Hey everyone,
I have a question about the need for inflation in the Big Bang theory.
What I have heard is that the reason for this is that without inflation,
distant parts of the universe would not have had enough time to come to an
equilibrium temperature with each other.
However, my question is:
Why couldn't the whole universe have just started out at roughly equilibrium
temperature?
If it did, then I don't see why you would need inflation to explain the
equilibrium we see today.
Thanks.

The universe is the way she is...
What is the Inflation Theory?
