Hello Bob,

Thank you for your message.  I would like the labs to be experimental and essay-based.  The students should be able to address their questions by working in the lab or greenhouse (the NH weather can be a bit brutal).  I find that students who are involved with their own research projects really learn more about biology (they have to do a literature search, develop an appropriate methodology, conduct their experiment, and then think about their results).  The laboratory aspect of the course can focus on two or three topics and use one or more model organisms or systems.  I guess that I am really asking for advice and suggestions from those who teach an upper level plant biology course and have tried this type of inquiry-based approach in the lab.  Am I still being too general?

Best,
Kristen

    Dear Kristen,

What did you have in mind? Do you want the labs to be accessible from the
Internet? Do you want a question/answer lab with multiple choice, or more
    of an essay based lab?

Let me know if you are merely seeking general advice on developing
curriculum or if you are seeking web-design or software-design expertise.

If you give more information, I may be able to assist you further.

    Sincerely,

    Bob

Dear Kristen,

You supplied enough information about your project. I apologize, but I do
not teach. I was not sure what you were looking for at first, but I was
prepared to possibly offer web content for your project. It sounds like
you have everything you need, material-wise.

Good luck in your venture. It sounds very interesting and worthwhile for
your students!

Sincerely,

Bob
