muons are elementary particles with a (proper) lifetime of 2.2 ?s. they are
produced with very high speeds in the upper atmosphere when cosmic rays
(high-energy particles from space) collide with air molecules.
take the height L0 of the atmosphere (its rest length) to be 100 km in the
reference frame of the Earth, and find the minimum speed that will enable
the muons to survive the journey to the surface of the Earth. solve this
problem in two ways: (a) in the Earth's frame of reference and (b) in the
muon's frame of reference.

The weekend after Thanksgiving should be a busy time in your
rose garden. First, canes should be pruned back to three or
four feet simply to keep the extra length from whipping
around in the wind and thus loosening the soil around the
bud union, exposing it to cold, drying winter winds. It is
the cold blustery conditions that does the most damage to
our roses

Good one Dirk.
Although not his usual M.O. I get the feeling this guy is simply another
incarnation of the dyslexic troll. He decided to change when his old
approach was not getting bites. What do you think?
Thanks
Bill

Of course he is the same troll.
And I'm sure he is less of an idiot than he wants us to believe :-)

I already knew that. Occasionally he lapsed into coherence when discussing
issues in computer science. He is obviously some cowardly childish computer
nerd who gets his jollies by annoying others. I suspect he is Glenn
Poultney AKA Kadaicha Man. Of course that is just a guess - these idiots
are far too cowardly to ever intentionally reveal who they are.
Thanks

Muon clocks are difficult to wind up and impossible to
to read without eyeglasses. Try one of these instead.
