What is the reaction between 3-nitroaniline and methylene chloride (CH2CL2) ?

Have you asked your second year lab demonstrator?  It's not a reaction
but rather a question of solubility. e.g., are you partitioning a
reaction mixture between an aqueous phase and the organic?  Are you
attempting to separate a mixture of 3 components (one neutral, one
basic and one acidic)?

 1) First order approximation:  none.
 2) Second order approximation: N-alkylation if you force it.
 3) Third order approximation:  one could almost envision
cyclization, but not enough to bet a grade on it.

Is there one?  I know amines can react often very slowly with DCM, but

aromatic ones are normally extremly slow (unless under

pressure/temperature).  I tested quite a few amines and DCM after we blew up

a 50L rotary.... http://www.crhf.org.uk/incident92.html
