I need help.
I have read in few articles that p-nitrobenzyl bromide decomposite in
environment of reaction. It's especially in base environment. What is
the reason of decomposition and what are the product of decomposition
p-nitrobenzyl bromide.
Thank you for help.

4-nitrobenzyl bromide is reactive toward bimolecular nucleophilic
displacement (Sn2) of bromide by an anion or a species with a free
pair of electrons (e.g., amine). The nitro group stabilizes it
against spontaneous dissociation (Sn1) into a benzyl carbocation
followed by capture.
