Hello,

Could anyone suggest a good synthetic procedure for water free PhONa
and PhSNa?

Commercial samples do contain water.

Thanks!

Alex.

Take the commercial samples, and then:

Sodium phenoxide: M 116.1. Washed with Et2O, then heated under vacuum
to 200? to
remove any free phenol.

I suposse that  sodium thiophenoxide and phenoxide could be dryed on
the Abderhalden pistol without any problem.

Bye.
