I'm looking for a mechanism for butylated hydroxytoluene. It looks
like it would be a simple ortho/para director type problem, but I
haven't worked w/ organic materials in a long time. Also, is there a
place that I could find out the time it would take to synthesis BHT in
a lab environment? Thanks in advance - Chris

Try looking up the patent on a patent server.
