Oppenauer Oxidation - Other bases?

Aluminium butoxide is given in references for the Oppenauer oxidation - has
anyone had any experience of using other bases?

March gives a reference to fluorenone/NaH.
There is a relatively recent review in Synthesis 1018(1994)
Lancaster catalogue says that zirconium tert-butoxide gives improved
yield but I guess thats too expensive
