What is the job prospect in forensic chemistry?
What's the chance for a chemistry graduate with academic research work
using GC/MS (without any biochemistry courses taken but have some
biology courses) in forensic chemistry related work?

Hi, I have got a FTIR absorption spectrum., and I observed fringes
pattern in the spectrum. I suppose that it is caused due to a thin
film formed on my sample. Is there any formula for determining the
thinfilm thickness directly form the fringes or from the spectrum. Can

Can anyone suggest a good reference book or internet sites for FT-IR of
polymeric materials, specially those that touch on copolymer sequence
analysis, stereoregularity, depth profiling, end group analysis. I have
some stuff with but they're very basic and the techniques were not

I'm looking at purchasing a GC-GC/MS and and IR....What is your imput on the
model lines?
Basically I'm looking at HP and SHIMADZU, but i've been hearing some not so
nice things about the shimadzu line.

Using capillary method for determining melting point the unknown
substance started to slowly clump and melt at X degree C, at about 3 degree
higher it was one clumped ball (like snow balls)., however
at a specific temperature about 7 degree C higher than the first observed

Hi experts!
My HPLC-system shows slowly increasing pressure over the day.
The negative effect is slightly decreasing peak areas of identical
samples.

What's the best way to purge an FTIR to minimize water vapor and CO2 Peaks.
I know running a background scan would nullify the effect of CO2 and
moisture but nothing beats a "clean" scan w/ minimal CO2 and moisture
interference.
