titration curve nomenclature28 Dec 2004 17:44 GMT5
How do you call in English the steepest part of the titration curve
(defined as endpoint +/- 0.1%)? In Polish it is a "curve jump" but does
it have any English name?

Radioactive exposure experiment and sample analyses19 Dec 2004 17:50 GMT1
I am going to do the exposure experiments with Cd and radioactive
calcium. And I want to determin Cd concentration in water as well as in
tissue sample with AAS. But I hear that it would cause contamination to
the equipment and it will be difficult to clean it up after that. Is
Analyzing Christmas trees ....16 Dec 2004 18:23 GMT5
I fear that Christmas trees are full of toxic chemicals and toxic

So how can I analyze a Christmas tree?
Difficulties in Gas Chromatography and Flame Ionisation Detection15 Dec 2004 17:26 GMT2
What are the difficulties of Gas Chromatography and Flame Ionisation
Detection?
cuvette cleaners: are they worth it?15 Dec 2004 15:07 GMT2
I inherited a process whereby a cuvette cleaner (looks like a beaker
washer on an erlenmeyer flask)is used once a week to "really clean" the
cuvette (with a jet of DI water).  This is an all-aqueous process, very
soluble.  I'm the only chemist in the area - the folks running the
Fluorosilicic acid assay14 Dec 2004 21:20 GMT1
I'm looking for methods to determine total fluorosilicic acid (About
9%) in a new elecrtorefining process we're starting. Also, I'll need
to run imputities by ICP. I 'assume' I can just do a NaOH titration
with phenolphthalein, and dilute the samples for ICP. Any and all

Weight of vodka14 Dec 2004 10:46 GMT5
I am getting odd results measuring the weight of a litre of vodka. It
is 40% by volume alcohol. 400ml of grain alcohol has a specific gravity
of 0.79 and should weigh 916gms. The remaing 600ml (99.9% water) should
weigh 600gms giving a total of 916gms. I consistently get about ...
Question about chemical reaction in the brain12 Dec 2004 13:05 GMT2
Can anyone tell me what receptors in the brain dopamine effect, and
serotonin for that matter. What gland or area of the brain secretes
serotonin and dopamine?
hydrogen peroxide interference in DO measurement using polarographic sensor11 Dec 2004 20:05 GMT6
I am employing a polarographic sensor for DO measurement in yeast
fermentations. My work involves use of hydrogen peroxide in yeast
cultivation. The DO sensor is a platinum cathode and silver anode with
KCl/KOH as the electrolyte (pH 13). I would like to know whether
analytical chemistry10 Dec 2004 18:42 GMT3
I'm searching information about something of analytical chemistry: about
labs, experiments or something.
I preffer in spanish, but in english would be ok.
thanks for everything,
membrane filter for dissolved metal analysis10 Dec 2004 07:49 GMT3
Can anyone tell me why I have to use either polycarbonate or cellulose
acetate membrane filter for filtering water in trace metel analyis (let
say, Cd)? I have red Standard Method for Water and Waste´Water
analysis from APHA and other literature souces. They all suggested me
artifacts in chromatographic SS tubing08 Dec 2004 14:10 GMT2
I'm wondering whether anyone else out there has experienced
artifacts/memory effects in chromatographic grade stainless steel
tubing when analyzing for volatile hydrocarbons.  Specifically, running
blanks (UHP He) through the system (a home-made cryogenic
