peak fitting31 Mar 2005 18:02 GMT3
I am looking for software or algoritms to compare chromatography runs.
opensource software to compare different runs automatically especially
when peaks are a little bit different in width and retentiontime
thanks
calcium titration31 Mar 2005 03:05 GMT5
Does anyone have any tips for conducting the EDTA calcium trtimetric
method, specifically on ground meat?  This seems a simple process, but
we have encountered several problems, primarially with the reagents
themselves.
Na contents measure using Atomic absorption spectrometry30 Mar 2005 16:57 GMT14
I am using atomic absorption spectrometry to measure Na contents in
arabidopsis. I am using spectra AA 220FS of varian. and I am using K/Na
lamp. strange thing is K contents measure is oK no problem but when I
try the Na contents measure, standard value and standard curve is made
help needed with sketch of planar complex27 Mar 2005 12:06 GMT7
I'm new to physico-inorganic chemistry and need help with sketching
the following structure K2 [Cu(HN-CO-NH-CO-NH)2.
Is K-K in the centre of the molecule with the Cu complexes attached ?
help would be much appreciated
Solid-Phase Extraction24 Mar 2005 14:05 GMT1
I'm looking for any materials(books(also in pdf), pdf files, tutorials) on
solid-phase extraction. Thanks in advance
ARL Spectraspan 724 Mar 2005 03:59 GMT1
I have a 15 y o DCP that is still running on a DOS-based system.  Apparently
there is an upgrade on the original software that allows the use of a
computer that's faster than a 386.  I am looking for a version of
"PlasmaVision 7" that is later than 1-B0.  Can anyone help me?
K2SO4 More Soluable in Acid?20 Mar 2005 13:29 GMT1
For purposes of growing plants in soil, I would like to know if
potassium sulfate (K2SO4) is more or less soluble in acidic soil, and
if so, by how much.  If possible, how many K2SO4 molecules in 3.5ppm
would be available in a soil with a pH of 5?
Titration of H2SiF6 with 0.5N NaOH18 Mar 2005 01:08 GMT4
I am trying to determine %H2SiF6 in solutions ranging from 9-25%
H2SiF6. I attempted to do this with 0.5N NaOH, with KNO3 added-1-3g
H2SiF6, 25 ml Sat. KNO3. I tried Phenophthalein and Bromothymol Blue as
indicators, both give the same results. If you add the base fast, you
Auger analysis16 Mar 2005 03:09 GMT1
I need to perform auger analysis on some samples. Are there any
companies around Boston, MA, that does this kind of analysis? Thanks
How about "Busted Toilet Award" for Shimadzu?15 Mar 2005 02:03 GMT1
Forget Busted Urinal... how about Busted Toilet Award for Shimadzu?
Me thinks George Orwell is M Kinstlinger (mkinstlinger@aol.com)
M Kinstlinger just got canned by Shimadzu a few months ago!

PittCon review15 Mar 2005 01:33 GMT7
Just got back from PittCon, and contrary to the opinions of our
resident wacko, Shimadzu is alive, healthy, and had one of the larger
exhibits, full of new instruments and interested customers.
Obviously the opinions of our wacko are just that: wacky.  No wonder
Does Iodine really sublimate?10 Mar 2005 14:56 GMT12
I am an A-Level Chemistry teacher and I tell pupils that Iodine
sublimates (like Carbon Dioxide) yet when heated in a tube, although
the gas phase is easily achieved a liquid iodine can be seen in the
bottom. I cannot explain this.
Low detection limit for Cd determination method?08 Mar 2005 16:20 GMT3
I am doing Cd determination in water samples and I know that the Cd
concentrations are very low, just about 0.1 - 0.5 µg/L. If I have a
graphite furnace AAS, it would not be a problem at all. But we only
have an ICP-MS and a flame AAS with much higher dectection limit. Is
RE:Solid-Phase Extraction07 Mar 2005 16:40 GMT2
I'm looking for any materials on solid-phase extraction(SPE). Thanks in
advance.
retention indices07 Mar 2005 15:38 GMT7
i am preparing practical course from gas chromatography concerning
kovats indices. unfortunately, i am not expert in this topic, so i was
a bit confused when i found this two different lists of retention
indices. for some coumpounds they differ. e.g. for thiophene you can
