molecular spectroscopy27 Mar 2006 19:05 GMT3
ESLAM ALAKOM  EVERYBODY
I want any information about molecular and atomic spectroscopy
also about U.V(ULTRA VIOLET) I.R(INFRA RED) NMR
or any sites about them
ESR and EPR24 Mar 2006 13:28 GMT2
Good morning, I'm a student-worker of chemistry. I need information or
internet sites about the analytic techniques of ESR (electron spin
resonance) and EPR( electron paramagnetic resonance). After, I would
like to know if there are application of these analytic techniques to
Looking for an equipment junkyard20 Mar 2006 04:04 GMT3
There are a variety of companies selling refurbished instruments such as
AA's, but does anyone know of a source for dead instruments?
(I've just had a Varian SpectrAA 600 die, and Varian no longer supplies
repair parts.  All I need is a dead one to strip for solenoids, boards,
need software for plotting spectra17 Mar 2006 21:56 GMT2
I would like to know which software you recommend (preferably free but it
is not mandatory) which can do the following :
       1. plot spectroscopic data (IR, NIR spectra)
       2. compute and plot 1st and 2nd derivative of spectra
Need pointer to information on Peak Fitting17 Mar 2006 18:27 GMT1
I need some sort of primer to the art of fitting simulated peaks
(gaussian, lorentzian, or a combination thereof) to spectral data.
I had some exposure to this back in the late eighties-early nineties,
when much less desktop computing power was available, and the peak
The best representation for infrared spectra17 Mar 2006 09:29 GMT2
I would like to know if representing spectra either in wavelenght or
wavenumber has totally no importance or if one of the two representation
is more "adapted" to physical reallity.
I know that there is a straight inverse relation between these two units
headspace GC problem15 Mar 2006 02:23 GMT10
I want to develop a quick simple method for measuring a solvent in a
waste water stream.. the solvent is a hydrocarbon fraction of alkanes
and cycloalkanes C8 to C10 and there many isomers..  It has a
solubility in water of about 1ppm.  levels of up to 200 ppm can be
meta-hydroxydiphenyl10 Mar 2006 17:47 GMT4
meta-hydroxydiphenyl: Where can I buy this thing?
Couldn't find it in Fisher, Sigma, VWR.

Self Absorption in Flame Emission10 Mar 2006 17:21 GMT4
There is a question in Olsen's "Optical Methods of Analysis" that when
long slot burners (10 cm) were commercially made it was thought that
they might be useless for flame emission spectroscopy because of self
absorption. But this apprehension appears to be wrong. Why is this so?
Program for peaks integration...10 Mar 2006 11:43 GMT2
I need a free program for peaks integration: i've two columns ascii file
time/mV
thanx
Effect of Temperature on Emitted Wavelengths of Fluorescence10 Mar 2006 02:59 GMT4
Can a decrease in temperature of the solution cause a blue shift in the
emission spectrum? The specific example was given of benzo[a]pyrene in
hexane, when the temperature was lowered from 25 oC to -25 oC, the
emission occured at shorter wavelengths and the fluorescence intensity
esr spectrum09 Mar 2006 15:25 GMT1
i have  dout abot how many peaks are obtained from
1,CF2H
2,13CF2h( isotope)
What is the difference between the?
looking for answer.08 Mar 2006 18:59 GMT2
I don't know what is the best way to ask this, so I'm going to say it
in my plane language.
Is it possible to change the structure of chemicals with radio
frequency..?
GC for H2, HBr, & Br207 Mar 2006 22:11 GMT5
Is anyone aware of a GC column (preferably packed) that can be used for the
analysis of gas samples containing percent levels of hydrogen, hydrogen
bromide, and bromine?   We are using a Shimadzu GC14A gas chromatograph
which is equipped with FID and TCD detectors.
ghost peaks in headspace GC06 Mar 2006 22:45 GMT3
after developing a method for determining pentene in a hydrocarbon
solvent consisting mostly of octane and nonane but with alkanes present
up to C40 and above using headspace GC I have created a problem in that
the GC is also used for very low level hydrocarbon in water analysis
