Jasco FP-920 fluorescence detector28 Sep 2006 13:25 GMT1
i just dug out an old Jasco FP-920 flourescence detector and it hooked
up fine to my generic LC software and the hardware looks fine too.
unfortunately, i cannot find a users manual for the instrument. i need
to run the instrument in scan mode in the EX and EM mode to determine
CO2 impurity22 Sep 2006 16:58 GMT9
In my lab I use commercial CO2 as oxygen free atmosphere for a couple
of procedures.
Before use cylinder headspaces are purge to remove non CO2 gases. O2
and N2 selectively segregate in headspace of CO2 cylinders above liquid

We are a canadian college offering a program in analytical chemistry.
We need some Gallenkamp melting point apparatus that are now
discontinued.  If you have model mpd350.bm2.1 or older mf370 that are

Is there any scientific confirmed evidence against Distilled Water ?07 Sep 2006 08:23 GMT10
I've read many articles that were against the useage of distilled water
as everyday water supplies for human body.  However, I've read as many
articles that said total different stories.  Those who were against and
those who support were all doctors, Ph Ds...well, is there a final
Quinine - defying fluorescence spectroscopy "rules"?05 Sep 2006 13:18 GMT3
Let me mention rules which I am referring to:
i. Absorption spectrum is indentical in shape to excitation spectrum
ii. Excitation spectrum and emission spectrum are mirror images.---I am
recalling quinine is an exception among this.
