Dendrites From both Anode and Cathode????30 Jan 2004 21:24 GMT3
I have conducted some test with DC at present and will move on to AC (hence
the request for suggestions).  I am concerned with Cu+Aq_contamination.  The
simple tests with DC produced some interesting results and very much
expected ones.  The growth of dendrites occurred in ...
Venting in NIMH30 Jan 2004 15:42 GMT3
A company in china, through a third party, is telling me that their cell
manufacture process, for cylindrical A size NIMH cells does not require a
vent.
Is this possible?
Electrochemistry of Measuring Conductivity29 Jan 2004 16:23 GMT4
Having taken a graduate electrochemistry class from Allen Bard and worked
with conductivity probes for years, I thought I knew everything!  I am
currently working with an electrical engineer who looks at the challenge of
measuring conductivity in ways that are quite different from ...
Li-ion battery - best to top off or wait for discharge?28 Jan 2004 16:30 GMT11
Has anyone found a definitive answer to whether it's best to keep a pcs
phone battery (or any Li-ion battery for that matter) topped off or wait
until it's say, 2/3 discharged? What are the effects of a deep discharge on
a Li-ion battery?
NIMH failures28 Jan 2004 02:26 GMT14
Where (if anywhere) can I get information on catastrophic failures in the
field, of NIMH batteries, hopefully linking back to the manufacturer?

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
electrochemistry for dummies27 Jan 2004 21:39 GMT6
Well actually the dummie is me.  My math skills are not good enough to apply
the Nernst equation to the electrolysis of water. (I think that's what I
need)  I am willing to pay for this answer if you can send it to me in a
file that I can use to make a graph showing the results I ...
NiMH 8.4V 3600mAH Question27 Jan 2004 13:13 GMT2
Hi sci.chem.electrochem.battery,
Not sure if this the right place to ask such an uninformed question.
I have a dozen NiMH 8.4V 2600mAH batteries, which have 12 cells in each
which retain no charge.  They are about 6 years old, is there any hope
White crystals on dead alk rechargeabes26 Jan 2004 19:22 GMT3
I recently found a forgotten toy that had Pure Energy alkaline rechargeables
in it. They had been there for about a year and were long dead. Instead of
the goopy liquid stuff I expected, the battery compartment was filled with
some powdery white crystalline material. I wrote to the ...
temperatur dependence of amperometric measurements26 Jan 2004 10:31 GMT2
What is the temperature dependence of the current in amperometric measurements
in potable water:
- water temperature between 10 and 60 degrees centigrade
- measurement of free chlorine at +0.1 V vs. Ag/AgCl

When charging lead acid batteries ...26 Jan 2004 05:09 GMT16
When charging lead acid batteries on a constant current charger in parallel,
is current on the charger meter evenly divisible by the number of batteries
that each battery receives?

DON'T FEED THE TROLL26 Jan 2004 04:29 GMT1
There is an irritating poster
who yells and screams at helpful posters!
Clue: he drives a Chevy!
He also replies to his own posts.

What affect does AC have on a electrochemical Cell?24 Jan 2004 22:38 GMT3
I am trying to look at different slants to this question and I would like
some input from anyone out there who would like to.
One idea is that if an AC bias is applied to a cell (such as one with two
copper electrodes and de-ionised water) then Under AC an ion will move back
