Nuclear Battery30 Apr 2004 23:58 GMT2
Is it posible to buy a nuclar battery for common people?
AA NiMh discharge thingie30 Apr 2004 23:54 GMT5
Reading up on older posts left the impression that it won't hurt the
cells being discharged to zero volts if it's done with individual
cells. Does this mean that it's ok to put say a 1 ohm resistor in
parallell with each cell to discharge the cells? If so is there any
9-Volt30 Apr 2004 07:53 GMT1
Put two 9-volt batteries together, plus to minus, and minus to plus. Leave them
connected like this for about 5 minutes before pulling them apart.
Hawker Cyclon Battery30 Apr 2004 01:34 GMT4
I'm looking for schematic battery charger or some informations for ( 2V /
4.5Ah cell )  SLA Hawker cyclon model. I would want to know how detect the
end of charge on this battery type ?
Thanks in advance!
Gas Stations30 Apr 2004 00:29 GMT5
I heard that short circuiting a 9-volt battery at a gas station can cause an
explosion ... is it true??
High current (high voltage) AA NiMh29 Apr 2004 18:20 GMT5
I have a digital camera that uses two AA batteries and it shuts off
well before my batteries are empty (NiMh Kodak 1800 and Sanyo 1500).
If I leave freshly charged batteries lying for two weeks and then put
them in the camera it shuts off at once when using the LCD. My guess
polarographic ozone sensor29 Apr 2004 07:37 GMT1
I understand there is an ozone sensor similar to a Clarke
cell.  Anyone know where I can find information on it?
Coils of wire29 Apr 2004 07:20 GMT1
Get a spool of wire that you can reach both ends of. Connect a strong battery
to the ends (such as a small lead-acid battery from a home security system) and
go to a closet that has a lot of metal tools. (Wear a helmet if you try this)
Dead link at Impedance spectroscopy, European Center (EICIS)26 Apr 2004 16:32 GMT1
Anyone have an idea when the Impedance spectroscopy, European Center (EICIS)
link will be running again?

Detection of ReChargeable / NonRechargeable Batteries.26 Apr 2004 07:29 GMT3
I want to construct a charger that can charge NiCd, NiMH, alkaline
batteries (AA size, 1.2V). When a nonchargeable battery is plugged
then it should be able to detect it and stop the charging process. Can
anyone suggest a method for this detection of whether the battery is
Lithium Ion Batteries In Marine Buoy23 Apr 2004 16:32 GMT1
Hi Ned/Ian/All
Thanks for the info regarding Li-Ion batteries being hazardous for
shipping and the charging suggestions. It has been an ongoing concern
of mine and I have been in contact with the battery manufacturer about
Lithium Ion Battery In Marine Buoy22 Apr 2004 17:03 GMT2
Hi Larry/Ian/All

Rejuvenating SLA's?22 Apr 2004 05:47 GMT7
On more than one occasion over the last year or two, I have encountered
12v SLA'a that apparaantly "died". That is, they no longer would take
and hold a charge. Upon probing a little, I find that the six cells are
accessible by prying up the semi-permanet plastic cover, with ...
Zr4+ - IONIC EQUIVALENT CONDUCTIVITY !!!!!20 Apr 2004 22:04 GMT2
HELP!!!!!!
Have someone an idea what value of equivalent ionic conductivity has Zirconium?
I need this in order to find the solubility of ZrF4
Please let me know!!!!!!!!!!
Lithium Ion Battery In Marine Buoy20 Apr 2004 14:47 GMT2
I'm new to this list, so hope I'm in the right place.
I manufacture lightweight oceanographic instrument buoys that are
deployed in high latitudes with water temperatures around 0°C.
Each buoy is powered by a 12V 100Ah Absorbed Glass Matt (AGM) lead
