Recharging Non-Rechargeable batteries13 May 2004 07:23 GMT1
Earlier today, I recharged 10 dead nine-volt batteries in series using the
110-volt plug and a high-voltage didoe. Within minutes, the lids of all the
batteries had popped out and the metal casings of some of the batteries soon
melted. Pretty cool ... you should tri it.

Li-ion charging.12 May 2004 07:13 GMT2
Wich suggestion do you have for a device equipped with a single
rechargeable Li-ion cell (900-1400mAh) continuosly powered  from the
main to keep the cell charged and safe?
I've read  trickle charge is not allowed with such chemistry.
SLA Charging question / true DC power12 May 2004 03:42 GMT2
I have a series of 17 ah sla batteries.
I have a 'cheap' charger labeled for lead acid batteries, 12 volt, 1 amp.
My meter is a fluke 112, with true rms - hertz.
When I check the voltage, and watch the hertz value, it reads 120, which is
Fire alarm battery12 May 2004 01:25 GMT15
Many people died in fire accident because they found 9V fire alarm didn't
work. However, no engineer seems able to design a better battery for fire
alarm to work all the time. Do you have any idea?
Inverter11 May 2004 12:33 GMT8
I'm about 85% electro-idiot; understanding just about enough to keep me out
of trouble. Scenario:  I have a new Compaq laptop I wish to use in my car
for downloading files from my digicam. I also have a year-old RayoVac
inverter rated at 350W, 120V, 3A continuous output which I'd ...
The Warburg Impedance 189911 May 2004 11:17 GMT1
I am in the process of reading Bockris's book electrochemistry 2A
and I would like to acquire a copy of Warburg's paper from 1899 as ref. by
Bockris (p. 1133).  I would appreciate it if someone could scan it and send
a copy to me via email.  Or give me where it was published ...
Recharging Non-Rechargeable batteries11 May 2004 09:01 GMT5
Hey, I noticed that non-rechargeable batteries almost never explode (only 1 in
25 or so cases) when recharged ... I wonder why they tell you not to do it.
Point of Zero Charge of FLUORIDES!???????11 May 2004 02:40 GMT1
Has someone an idea what pH value of point of zero charge(isolectric
point)do have Fluorides?
organic electrochemistry10 May 2004 22:39 GMT2
I am looking to introduce myself to the techniques of electrochemistry and
applications to organic reactions. Can anyone recommend recent texts or
reviews of the field? Thanks for your time,

first charge of a PDA battery09 May 2004 22:28 GMT5
I bought a palm zire 72. It has a Rechargeable Lithium Polymer, 950
mAh, Not user replaceable battery. The manual said charge it first
time for three hours. Somewhere in the handheld i vaguely remember
that the instructions said 2-3 hours. Anyhow, with it being new and me
Recharging Non-Rechargeable Batteries09 May 2004 14:01 GMT1
Hey, I noticed that non-rechargeable batteries never explode when recharged at
a current of at most 200mA. Why don't people start doing it and save money,
along with our environment?
Dead JVC camcorder battery09 May 2004 13:36 GMT4
I can't recharge my JVC camcorder battery, BN-V12U 6v 1200mAh, Cd Ni-Cd. The
battery has not been used that much but has been left for months at a time
disconnected from the camcorder. Each time I went to use it I often had to
boost some life into it with my car charger (4AMP) ...
