Storage of Li-ion batteries, results determined07 Jul 2004 05:10 GMT2
I posted a thread in this newsgroup, Subject: Two questions about li-ion
batteries, on 06/06/2004. The first question was if I should store my
li-ion batteries at 40% charge state, refrigerated. The answer was
"yes." The second question was:
Circuit diagram and Calibration Procedure for the EG&G Princeton 263A Potentio/Galvanostat06 Jul 2004 15:55 GMT1
Can anyone help.  I need to try and find a Circuit diagram and Calibration
Procedure for the EG&G Princeton 263A Potentiostat/Galvanostat.
If someone would be so kind and either scan or photocopy if they have the
manual I would be willing to pay for any oncosts.
Charging NiMH in parallel06 Jul 2004 15:18 GMT5
Keep in mind this is just preliminary thoughts, before you start
nit-picking.
1. In order to charge strings of nickel based batteries in parallel we
have to use a regime that is primarily constant voltage, since we

Forgot if I hit "send" on this one already.  If I did then please
disregard.
What do you all think?  Is this the $50/kwh battery we've been waiting
Recharging Non-Rechargeable Batteries06 Jul 2004 04:03 GMT2
What really happens in terms of electron flow and energy, when a
non-rechargeable battery is recharged? What causes them to explode when
recharged too fast or for too long?
Migration and diffusion 06 Jul 2004 01:28 GMT7
Hi
When does migration stop and diffusion takes over? I have a material that whilst it seems to be a solid can still yield dendrites over time (I guess this is ion migration).  If this is the case from the literature I am reading ions only migrate in a liquid.  So am I seeing ...
Nernst Eauation ?06 Jul 2004 01:20 GMT2
Hi
I use a fluoride electrode with a separate standard Ag|AgCl reference
electrode.
I want to be able to correct the mV reading for temperature variations
Help with R value, please (Bosch battery charger)05 Jul 2004 07:19 GMT16
Bosch NiCD battery cordless drill fast charger model 2 607 224 180. Resistor
R10 connects to switching (chopper) transistor. Remains of this 1/8W resistor
not legible re. color code.
Transistor (IRFP340) is not shorted.
NiMH vs. NiCd life?04 Jul 2004 20:55 GMT6
A major name-brand cordless tool manufacturer's rep. told me over the phone
that the reason they weren't using NiMH batteries was that NiMH batteries
give 2-4 years of life, while NiCd gives 3-5 years.
Is there any truth to this statement?
differences in recharging requirements04 Jul 2004 14:15 GMT5
My understanding is that lithium batteries should be kept fully
charged as much as possible with frequent top-ups, while ni-cad
batteries should be run down completely before recharging.  No topping
up.
Digital Conceps 2400 mAh penlites04 Jul 2004 04:22 GMT1
Had them in my hand today, almost bought them, but decided to check on the
internet first!
I use Ansmann 2200 mAh batteries now, very very good:
they perform as they claim!
The riddle of 3 batteries04 Jul 2004 04:17 GMT6
You have 3 9-volt NiCad batteries of known and uniform capacity you want to
fully discharge, but you have no wires or other equipment, so the only way you
can discharge them is by snapping two of them together, forming a short circuit
of 18 volts. But you don't want to reverse ...
