Tafel constants for  predominately non-aqeous solutions30 Sep 2004 13:19 GMT1
I would like to estimate the tafel constants of three solutions
containing about 20% water in glycol. Can anyone provide any basic
guidelines for the expected value range of tafel constants in
predominately non-aqueous solutions? Thanks in advance.

Mixing brands of NiCads27 Sep 2004 18:11 GMT3
Is it a bad idea to use one brand of NiCad rechargeable battery in a
recharger made by another company?  Is there any danger in placing two
different brand NiCad batteries in the same recharger at the same
time?  Is it bad to place 2 different brands in a device?
Ultracapacitor progress27 Sep 2004 18:09 GMT1
I have sixteen surplus Maxwell Technologies PC 2500 2700 F 2.5 WVDC
ultracapacitors and had eight on road with an Ametek 30 VDC, 12 A stall motor
chain driven from the rear wheel of my bicycle, in series, with no balancing
resistors. I headed down a hill and that rig was sucking big ...
Anybody know where to find this Li Pol battery from an iPod?23 Sep 2004 19:54 GMT2
http://eshop.macsales.com/Catalog_Item.cfm?ID=7157&Item=NWTIPOD210012
It is a 3.7v 2100mah Li Pol battery and I know there has to be somewhere to
get it cheaper than $40.
Please e-mail me if you know of somwhere to look..
finding a variable voltage batt pack from 1.2 V batts22 Sep 2004 22:56 GMT1
I have a number of electronics that need charging at different
voltages (from 4.2 to 16V, 0.5 to 2.5 A needed). Because I'm planning
to take these things with me in the outdoors and only have an AA car
charger available I was thinking of putting a number of NiMH batteries

Lithium-Fluorine battery20 Sep 2004 21:12 GMT5
Anyone dare to attempt to construct a Lithium-Fluorine battery? It would be
very difficult since you would need something to hold the fluorine in solution,
but fluorine reacts with almost anything.

NiMH vs. NiCD Recharge Issues11 Sep 2004 10:49 GMT1
Does anyone have any idea of what happens to NiMH when charged with
solar charges?  I am thinking about NiMH in a black plastic casing
with a solar panel to recharge.  I read that there are issues at temps
over 30C, and daytime temps can get up to about 45C external, and
Li-Ion laptop battery internal circuitry confused?10 Sep 2004 01:40 GMT6
Second-hand laptop (Thinkpad T22) arrives from ebay in fairly good
condition, except it won't run on battery power.

I initially assumed it needed charging so left it on charge, however this
Problems fully charging NiMH AAA cells09 Sep 2004 13:22 GMT13
Having accumulated several devices using 3 AAA cells, I decided to begin
using NiMH instead of alkaline. (I've used NiMH in AA since they became
available, and NiCd in all common sizes long before that.)
My problem is getting them to charge completely.
Li-poly sc protector (self-control protector)03 Sep 2004 03:56 GMT4
Hi, I'm building a 11.1 2.4 ah li-poly battery back with gas gauge.
I'm using bq2084 as gaz gauge,SFD-127A (sc protector) as primary level
over voltage and current prtection, bq29400 as 2nd Level Over Voltage
Protection and bq29312 as battery protection AFE.
