| Newbie advise using 2400 mah nimh AA batteries | 13 Oct 2004 19:44 GMT | 2 |
I recently upgraded from 35mm film to a 3MP Konica KD3000Z digital camera which I bought from Ebay along with some 2400 mah nimh batteries. The included charger was only a 2-cell simple unit, so I bought a microprocessor controlled 4-gang fast charge unit along with some more ...

| Low open circuit voltage in fuel cells. Why? | 11 Oct 2004 22:21 GMT | 4 |
Between SOFC(solid oxide fuel cell) and PEM(proton exchange membrane), using materials are different, but the electrochemical basis is almost same. And in SOFC and PEM, open circuit voltage often becomes lower than

| Boil in the bag batteries. | 11 Oct 2004 05:04 GMT | 3 |
Can anyone suggest batteries suitable for 110C? I'm wanting to make a few tiny blobs that you throw in a pan, and they go 'bing' and auto-simmer the ring at 99C or so. Peak power of say a milliwatt for a millisecond.

| electroanalytical problem | 09 Oct 2004 21:41 GMT | 1 |
I try to find out any description (or work out) of possible simple method (if exist) of the quantitative determination of significant amounts (means: not trace) of peroxyacetic acid (PAA) in the hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and acetic

| Carbonate electrolysis question | 06 Oct 2004 15:26 GMT | 5 |
I'm not an electrochem expert, I'm a molecular biologist by trade, but I have an electrochem question. I'm recently trying to grow a large amount of algae for an experiment and they need a large amount of CO2 delivered to the water, kilogram

| Automatic charging | 06 Oct 2004 06:00 GMT | 3 |
Ok, here's one that's been bugging me. I have this hobby charger, that I use for maintaining lab batteries, and it has an "automatic" mode, in that it determines number of cells and charge current, as long as the cells are NICAD.. The docs say that it can't do this

| AC adapters | 05 Oct 2004 22:25 GMT | 9 |
Common black "socket hugger" AC adapters get warm when not connected to the device. Home much energy is lost? Didn't know where to post this and sci.engr seemed dead. http://mysite.verizon.net/vze8adrh/news.html --Tim923

I can't believe they charge an extra nickel for NiCd batteries with a button top (compared to just flat top) ... just use a small piece of aluminum foil to wedge it into the CD player or whatever! Look!!

| More on Recharging NR batteries | 04 Oct 2004 06:21 GMT | 1 |
It seems Non-Rechargeable batteries work better (higher current) when fast charged, but fast charging always makes them more prone to leaking or exploding. Anyone have a solution around this besides the obvious "Never Recharge Non-Rechargeable Batteries"?

| NiMH stick battery discharge advice | 04 Oct 2004 00:55 GMT | 21 |
My portable MP3 CD player comes with two stick NiMH batteries. The user has the option of having the batteries completely discharged before charging, making me think that this will give better performance, although I thought NiMH had no memory effect, as compared
