Voltmeter with hold reading30 Jun 2005 06:37 GMT32
I posted a few months ago about building a discharger for a DeWalt 18v
battery. Thanks to everyone who contributed suggestions and ideas. We
have our first one built and working.
A bit of background - We have a DeWalt 18v recip saw on our rescue
Recycling price for lead-acid cells?29 Jun 2005 11:57 GMT2
I'm interested in the price a scrapyard will be getting for pallets
of 12V car batteries.
Any thoughts?
So I can go with my battery tester, and buy 8 or so for my UPS.
Apparently I've misunderstood the "gas guage" for Li-Ion?27 Jun 2005 22:34 GMT2
Figured I'd get an informed answer here. We were
talking about cell phone batteries.

I am working with a Princeton Potentiostat, which I also attached to a
mercury drop electrode. It happens that all the experiments that I have
been working with (with and without the mercury electrode) have a lot
of noise. Discarting the reagents which are high purity, we decided

water hydrolisi?17 Jun 2005 16:08 GMT7
When at a friend's dinner, a guy used a sort of self-built or bought
can with a cap where two large electrodes had been inserted. He filled
the can with our expensive first quality brand table-mineral water.
After 10' of connection to power supply (220 volts), the water turned
charge from a concentration of ions.16 Jun 2005 12:15 GMT1
I would like to work out the charge of a contained group of ions.
I assume that the charge Q is :
Q = z q Na c
where the ions has valence 'z', q is the charge on a proton, Na is

Over sized battery bank charging14 Jun 2005 17:11 GMT4
I bought enough batterys to run my planed electric usage for a total of
5 rainy days (1170ah). This was with the idea in mind that I would just
keep buying 2 solar panels every few months till I had 60 amps in panels
which would be just over the C/20 MIN, requirement for charging ...
Battery Heat and Swelling10 Jun 2005 23:15 GMT13
Sorry if this is a double post -- I may have hit the wrong key.
Where would I find info on heat generated by batteries and how much
their dimensions might change as they are being discharged?
I am interested in AA Alkaline and NiMH in particular. I am also

12V 36Ah EV Battery10 Jun 2005 02:32 GMT13
I used to use the Sonnenschein 12V 36Ah Deep Cycle batteries to power
an amateur Electric Vehicle.  They recently discontinued this battery
in Australia and replaced it with a 38Ah.
I have an upper limit of 36Ah allowed on my vehicle, due to competition
