lithium polymer battery31 Jul 2005 21:44 GMT2
I got a small digital camera with a built-in lithium polymer battery.
I would like to know if I have to go through few discharge/recharge cycles
before I can get its full capacity
or... it is irrelevant for that kind of battery.
Live of a 9V battery31 Jul 2005 17:47 GMT5
How long (hours) can live a standard Alkaline battery of 9 V, with a
average current of 10 mA ?  It's going into a 78L05 regulator, so the
battery can "go down" to 7.5 V, I think it's enough.
Thnaks to all.
swith on a Li-Ion battery30 Jul 2005 00:14 GMT1
I bought a replacement battery (Li-Ion 7,2V 1700 mAh) and a switch is
located on the battery. What is the usage of this switch?
Thank your for your answers

Charging AAA in AA charger28 Jul 2005 23:26 GMT3
I recently bought a AA charger (RadioShack Fast charger 23-043) but I'd
like to charge AAA batteries in it. Do I absolutely need an adaptor? Is
the charging current different for AA and AAA batteries charger? What
does the AAA adaptor do exactly? Can I just add a piece of metal so ...
How Toxic is NiCd Battery Corrosion?28 Jul 2005 21:28 GMT1
I have a question with regard to the toxicity of corroded NiCd penlight
batteries.  Two years ago, in the course of moving, I came upon a
sandwich bag containing two rechargeable NiCd penlight batteries (in a
small charger), along with several cassette tapes and floppy disks.
Li-po and Li-ion26 Jul 2005 22:48 GMT1
Can anyone tell me the difference between these two types. Do they have
different charging characteristics?
Charging Flooded Lead Acid Battery26 Jul 2005 14:50 GMT3
Hi All;  I had always assumed that S.G. would increase in mainly a linear
fashion during a fairly constant charge. But on this site (page 29) it shows
that this is not the case. Does anyone have an explanation of why my
assumption was wrong?
heat rekeased in battery due to discharge26 Jul 2005 14:27 GMT5
I think that the heat generated in a battery during discharge would be the
current times the difference between the open circuit voltage and the
battery terminal voltage.
My reasoning is that during charge you have to put the energy (current) in

How to maximise anodicly grown aluminium barrier oxide18 Jul 2005 15:46 GMT1
I am about to grown aluminium oxide anodically and wish to maximise the
thickness of the barrier oxide. How do I avoid growing purous oxide and
maximise the thickness of the barrier oxide?
The desired thickness is just some 50 nm.
How to discharge safely Ni-MH batteries17 Jul 2005 15:35 GMT1
I have had two sets of 4 AA rechargeable batteries (1600 & 1800 mAh) running
for 2 or 3 years.
The discharge current looks to have increased (or the capacity decreased)
since I must charge them at least some days before use. In the past, they're
refurbish car battery17 Jul 2005 09:45 GMT10
Our car battery seems pretty bad. We recharged it and the charger ammeter
reported full charge. The voltmeter gave a good reading, but the hydrometer
reading was very low, like practically water.
Is there a way to regenerate the battery? Would draining it and rinsing it
Difficult battery charger task16 Jul 2005 17:02 GMT37
I have been given a task to design a battery charger for SAFT
batteries in series.
There are 170 batteries in series.
The charge current is 12Amps.(6A above a level)
How to trickle charge Optima (gel) batteries?15 Jul 2005 23:34 GMT1
Guys,
I thought I do my optima, a gel spiral or somehting like that, a favour
and trickle charge it over the winter ...
For that I got a cheap trickle charger which is supposed to charge
