Adding Acid to Lead Acid Battery29 Nov 2005 19:35 GMT11
I've been told that you should never add acid to a lead acid battery.
Obviously if you tip the battery over and spill the acid out you will need
to add some, but how much? At what concentration?
Are there any other conditions where you would want to add additional acid
Battery Problem Help28 Nov 2005 23:31 GMT6
Good day... I have a Craftsman 12V Cordless Drill, with Ni-Cd battery
cells. When the battery is completely drained and then placed in its
charger, it will not charge. However, if I first connect the battery to
the car for a minute, or so, then place it in the charger, it will
EDTA and lead acid batteries.27 Nov 2005 16:56 GMT1
Hey guys,
I've read that adding EDTA to a lead acid battery can help keep the
plates desulfated, and can help them last longer. Is there any truth to
it? Is this a common "trick"? Has anyone tried it,or have any other input?

Battery question - two 7.2 V packs to get 14.4 V24 Nov 2005 16:41 GMT2
Can anyone tell me can I connect two 7.2 V Ni-MH packs in series to get
14.4V, use it for powering 20 W halogen lamp, and after power runs down
disassemble it and charge 7.2 V packs separately, first one and then
another.

Where do you go to buy your lead acid batteries?

MgB2 by electrophoresis22 Nov 2005 08:30 GMT5
Respected sir,
Recently I had joined the group. Let me first of all introduce myself
to you. I am Hyam R.S. working in the field of MgB2 superconducting
films. Inorder to synthesize MgB2 we are making use of electrophoretic
Dehydration of lithium perchlorate18 Nov 2005 22:45 GMT1
Hi, all,
I am interested to find an answer for the following question: what are
the conditions of dehydration of lithium perchlorate? I have hydrous
LiClO4 but I need to measure I(V) properties of the cathode for the
Has this newsgroup died?18 Nov 2005 12:20 GMT3
Hi, all,
Did the urine battery kill this newsgroup? Or was it the FAQ that never
asked or answered a question? Or has the moderator taken a vacation? If this
gets posted, then maybe the moderator isn't in too bad shape. Come on, guys,
Instant drop in current over 60second on two copper electrodes18 Nov 2005 08:13 GMT1
I have been collecting data of two copper electrodes (current over time
I-t plots) in water.  All of my results are explainable above 1.25v.
However, if you fix the electrodes at 1.25v and measure the current
over time the first 60 second, there is a decay, then it pans out for
impedance measurement14 Nov 2005 22:46 GMT3
Would it be possible to calculate the values of resistance and
capacitance for a parallel RC equivalent circuit by measuring its
impedance just at a single frequency.  The calculation of R and C from
the complete multifrequency impedance spectrum is straightforward.
How to build a Li-Ion charger myself (windmill, generator, solar cells)??12 Nov 2005 12:12 GMT36
I have a crazy idea:
1. On my self suppored bicycle trips around the world I want to use a
digital camera.
2. I have faced reality and accepted that most digital cameras use
Li- Ion Battery Charger Tester09 Nov 2005 06:42 GMT9
I have the Li-Ion Battery Charger.
This Charger is charge up the 21.6V BATT(3.6V X 6).
But I do not know it is function well or not.
How should i test it without using the real battery?
oxygen / nitric oxide measurements08 Nov 2005 15:26 GMT1
I have been working with NO and O2 electrodes [WPI] to measure
concentration of each gas in aqueous systems. But now I want to monitor
the gases in the lipid phase, and I'm afraid my electrodes won't work
that well in lipids, and that calibration will be tricky.
