Low constant current - low constant voltage12 Dec 2005 10:53 GMT1
does anybody know how you can create a constant cathodic voltage (+/- 0
mV SHE) or a constant current ranging from 1 up to 200 mA. The electron
supply should not vary too much. I know a potentiostat can do the job,
but it's too expensive. I assume that the high cost for a ...
Q. about leaving trickle charger connected in my diesel car10 Dec 2005 14:45 GMT23
Got a diesel, and it gets cold here.  There's a block heater, but I also
have a 1A charger that could be attached to the same extension cord - would
there be any drawback/problems with leaving this connected (on the battery
side) _all_ the time?  It's a cheapo transformer & diode ...
Internal Resistance of AGM Battery10 Dec 2005 14:38 GMT7
I am using two 75 Ah "Optima Yellow Top" AGM batteries in my camper.
When I apply a current step function from 2,5 A to 29 A the voltage
drops from 12,5 V to 12,14 V. This is equivalent to an internal
resistance of 13 milliOhm !!

Skeptical about AGM10 Dec 2005 04:50 GMT3
Are AGMs really better batteries than flooded cell batteries?
Will the wet cells ever be totally obsolete and be replaced by AGM?
Assuming the cost were the same, which would you buy?
If AGMs ever reach volume production and bring the price down, wet cells

I was the guy that posted about leaving a 1A charger connected in my diesel.
What I wanted to know was would there be any problems leaving the charger
conncted TO THE BATTERY all the time - like when the car is being driven.
If not, I'll mount it on the (inside) fender and wire it ...
AA NiMH Battery Charger recommendations?07 Dec 2005 23:25 GMT2
I was looking to buy a new battery charger primarily for AA NiMH batteries.
I sick of my old el-cheapo, claim to be "smart" chargers.
I've narrowed the choice down to 3...

How can I produce hydrogen using electrolysis at 3 psi? tia sal
Greetings All,
I'm trying to find a way to produce hydrogen at around 3 PSI continually
over time using electrolysis.  I'm currently using a Hoffman Apparatus,
Float chargers -- fiction?02 Dec 2005 00:18 GMT11
I have seen and accepted the assertion that "float chargers" will not
overcharge your lead-acid battery but "trickle chargers" will.  After
some experimentation, I am not so sure.  It appears to me that most
"float chargers" do not at all sense what is happening in the battery;
