What is battery leakage like, what color or property?

I am looking for information regarding the 'sense electrode' in cyclic  
voltammetry. I am usnig the system with the potentiostat (Autolab with  
PGSTAT30) and 4 electrodes (working and auxilary - Pt, refference: Ag/AgCl  
and the sense one connected to the working one).

I have a pair of wireless Sennheiser headsets HDR 40 which is missing the
battery pack which I think is a BA151 (2.5V NiMH).
