| do NiMH "Whisker" in storage? | 24 Nov 2006 19:42 GMT | 5 |
Just opened a pack of Uniross 2000 NiMH, stored but unused for over a year. One failed to charge and stuck at 0 volts until I zapped it with about 20A for ½ second. Is this typical? Should I scrap the cell? (It's not for a critical application)

Could someone recommend a tutorial or reference on ionic conduction? I'm particularly interested in MgO. What would cause MgO to lose some of it's electrical insulating properties at high temperatures or what can be done to enhance the electrical insulating properties. But I

| Building a solar charger for a Li-ion camera battery | 02 Nov 2006 04:43 GMT | 2 |
Just a preliminary enquiry into the possibility of this. I am going on a massive worldwide cycling mission, and want to build a solar charger for my digital SLR. The camera, a Nikon D50, takes a EN-EL3 model Li-ion battery, 7.4V 1400mAh. The standalone mains charger
