Charging "Stackable" Li-Ion battery Pack30 Mar 2007 15:55 GMT6
I am currently researching a charging concept for a custom product I
am developing, and was wondering if what I am thinking is even
feasible.  I am developing a custom handheld sized communications
device/PDA.  What I would liek to have is a Li-ion battery pack that
Volta drop in cheap NiMH cells28 Mar 2007 22:03 GMT6
Dears,
I have a 6 cell pack of cheap 3000mAh cells (not suitable for high
discharge rates). Since my applications is not so demanding I choose
to use them. After 6 months of heave use the voltage drop increased
MiMH27 Mar 2007 08:32 GMT1
I have a 9 volt NiMH battery pack (8.4v) that appears to only have two cells
open. The others seem shorted. I think this is the first time
I have seen this, except for nicads. How common is this??

Fluidized bed electrode and carbon nanotubes26 Mar 2007 15:12 GMT2
I have read on internet about fluidized bed electrode. This is constitute
by Ag metal particles (0.65 mm diameter) fluidized in the electrolyte.
I ask me: Fluidized bed electrod's performance are comparable whit the
Conventional electrodes for fuel cells?
Battery in fire alarm never work15 Mar 2007 15:03 GMT9
Battery didn't work in fire alarm again. Why don't engineer and
science make a battery that work in fire alarm?

Assessment of Energy release during fire by Lithium based cells.12 Mar 2007 20:58 GMT1
I need to know which is the nominal heat of Lithium.
In particular we would like to calculate how much energy could be
released in case of fire by lithium ion cells.
I know the theoretical energy amount  that Lithium has but how much of
Hypophosphite / chlorate flow cell07 Mar 2007 02:13 GMT4
Could you nice people out there check my figures on this?  It seems that
my high school Physics didn't register completely on what I consider my
brain.
The proposal is a flow cell using hypophosphite and chlorate in aqueous
Duration of 1st charge of drill battery06 Mar 2007 10:04 GMT5
My portable Tesco drill has a 9.6V 1000mAh battery pack.  I don't know
what type of battery it is.  The power supply "brick" outputs 12VDC
400mA to the charging stand which the battery sits in.
The instructions say to charge it for about 5 hours each time it gets
low melting salt...05 Mar 2007 19:03 GMT3
there has been a topic here not long ago about molten salts. Someone put
a link to a table of melting temperatures of various salts.
Unfortunately, i did not copy this link and it is now obsolete. Could
someone post it for me ? Thanks in advance
long lasting battery04 Mar 2007 23:32 GMT40
I have a few remote sensors that needs 'embedding' in inaccessible
positions but which have to last for years (ideally 10 years).
The problem is that the mains supply will be cut off for 8 to 14 hours
every day and completely for 3 days or so every 4 to 6 weeks.
Electric Cars04 Mar 2007 18:48 GMT27
The complete combustion of one liter of gasoline will produce about 32
MegaJoules (MJ) of energy. If there is about
80 liters of gas in the average tankfull, there is a total of about
2560 MJ. If the average efficiency of the internal combustion engine
