How to find Ultracapacitor Research info.30 May 2007 16:44 GMT4
I am interested in Ultracapacitors.  I have done a lot of digging
around on the internet to see what has been done  in this field.
I have a B.Sc. degree, and am wondering how a Ph.D. student would go
about researching what all has been done in this field.

Very low trickle charge possible for NiMH?28 May 2007 22:50 GMT7
I read that when charging nickel-based batteries it's best to not slow charge
NiMH batteries.
I have a test meter that uses a 9v battery. It is plugged in to an ac adapter
when on my work bench, but I frequently pack it in with my tools to go on a
AA and AAA battery chargers28 May 2007 16:40 GMT2
I've become dissatisfied with my Maha C204F because it only charges in
pairs. I have a few AAA NiMH batteries that need individual
conditioning. I have some that AFAIK are OK. I'm probably going to buy
some AA and AAA low self discharge cells, probably the Rayovac Hybrids.
Oral-B toothbrush conv. to Li-Ion21 May 2007 15:56 GMT2
This electric toothbrush runs on two AA cells.
Tried NiMh, too slow.
I replaced one with a dummy cell (wood dowel, two screws, wire).
The other with a 14500 750mA li-ion cell.
New analytical chemistry forum07 May 2007 15:24 GMT5
There's a new forum for discussion of all things related to analytical
chemistry including chromatography, mass spec, spectroscopy,
electrochemistry, etc. There's isn't much traffic yet, so I'm counting
on you to come over and get it going. Got a problem with your analysis,
which type of 1.5 V cell has highest voltage?07 May 2007 08:51 GMT1
I see so many types of (disposable) batteries for sale:
carbon-zinc, alkaline, lithium, titanium, NiOx.....
Now I am curious which has the highest voltage?
The reason is that I have a device which fails to
Battery Zapper circuit06 May 2007 22:17 GMT1
Sometime earlier this year(?), somone posted details of a LA battery
zapper to breakdown sulphation. Basically a large a capacitance that you
charge and then apply to batter to try and break down sulphation.
Tried searching, but unable to find it.
amperometric cells01 May 2007 10:54 GMT1
Does anyone know of any good books on membrane-covered amperometric
cells?  I have the usual ones on the Clark type, but I am interested
in other types.
eeStor: What's going on01 May 2007 05:57 GMT5
My understanding is that there is a start-up company called "eeStor"
located in Austin, TX that claims to have made progress in replacing
batteries with a type of solid state capacitor.
High recharge rate, no chance of fire or explosion, etc. etc......it's
