Electrolysis question: MgSO4, H2030 Jul 2008 20:58 GMT25
I built a water electrolysis chamber.  I am using MgSO4 in H20 as the
electrolyte.
I built it with 2 plexiglass boses, each with one side open, that bolt
together on the open side, with a small chamber between the 2 boxes,

I posted a topic here titled "Electrolysis question: MgSO4, H20" and I
just noticed that it is now posted on natscience.com.
Can anyone explain why this happened?
It seems like something wrong is going on there, I didn't agree to

More of potentiometry of Fe(III)17 Jul 2008 20:26 GMT-
Hello
Some of you have succeeded in identifying potentiometric of Fe (III) using
the membrane electrode with tetraferrate?
I've not ...
Fe by potentiometry17 Jul 2008 20:19 GMT-
Hello
I've been testing the determination of potentiometric Fe (III) using the
carbon electrodes, but I find that responds but to changes in pH !
Some of you found it work?
questions on batery conditioning17 Jul 2008 19:13 GMT-
Hello
I have two questions  about batteries:
- The seller of a electronic device  told us that the  Lion batteries
of a newly purchased product require the same  startup conditioning
Some thoughts on the Firefly cell16 Jul 2008 20:05 GMT3
Probably naive and ignorant thoughts, but how else does one learn ...
1)  The surface area to volume ratio is no greater for a convoluted surface
than a flat plate.  So how is the sponge electrode an advantage? over a
flat plate of the same mass, that is.
Promising battery tech15 Jul 2008 22:33 GMT3
What is the most promising tech today for battery electric vehicles?
Lithium Ion looks good. But what is the next "big thing" in energy
density?
Gasoline vs. battery13 Jul 2008 15:52 GMT65
With gasoline at $4/gal. and electricity at $0.10/kW-hr (residential rate),
even a perfect IC engine would have higher fuel costs.  $4 buys 40 kW-hr,
which is 40 X 3600 BTU = 144,000 BTU.  One gallon of gas contains 120,000
BTU.  So at 100% efficiency for both, the ...
Acidic oxygen cathode10 Jul 2008 14:07 GMT1
Is there any example of an oxygen cathode with an acid aqueous electrolyte?
The potential would be 1.2 V instead of 0.4 and the problem with carbon
dioxide depleting the alkalinity of the electrolyte would be avoided.  You
would have to use an H+-selective membrane.
Where is the energy stored in lead acid09 Jul 2008 08:10 GMT1
Where is the energy stored in a lead acid battery is it in the lead or the
acid water solution.

determining flooded deep cycle SOC?05 Jul 2008 17:52 GMT4
I recently replaced my two Interstate SRM27 (85ah) with SRM27X (105ah)
and would like a non-destructive test of their ah capacity. I propose
using and inverter to load each battery at 10A and measure the
terminal voltage with a usb data-logger. Interstate give a table of o/
H2SO4 - solid or liquid?01 Jul 2008 19:42 GMT2
The reason I want to know is that I overcharged my motorcycle battery
and the water is gone. Did the H2SO4 boil away as well? Or is it a
solid which precipitated out?
I'm going to put my safety glasses on and add distilled water...
