Watching the news on New Orleans, I noticed a tidbit that New Orleans is sinking at 1/2" a year. The city has been there long enough to compact the sediment which it's built on. Aquifer draw down doesn't make much sense as the water table is normally so high, even

New Orleans should not be rebuild in a such under MSL location ... and I believe it will not be... . This would be rebuilding on a grave yard, and on another potential grave yard at that.
